JSP Logistics (Formerly Japan Speed Pack NZ Ltd) was launched in 1990, initially operating as a product of S B International Freight Ltd a Christchurch, New Zealand based Freight Forwarder and customs brokerage.
JSP Logistics service was set up to handle the door-to-door delivery of Japanese tourist souvenirs and gifts that were purchased during their travel to New Zealand. The service allowed the visitor unencumbered and freedom to travel the country without the burden of carrying addition bags during their journey. Upon their return home, their precious cargo would be delivered to their homes safely securely and on time.
The company strategy has been to employ Japanese citizens who understand the culture and service expectations of the Japanese customers. As well as being familiar with the needs of Japanese customers our people are experts in handling international cargo able to offer the best advice in packing, freight options and customs procedures.
JSP Logistics offers a wide range of package options for customers to choose the most economical method for delivery to their home. These packages range from small 2.5 kilo boxes up to 30 kilo boxes and also surfboard packs, ski packs and wine packs.
In 1997 JSP Logistics formed its own Limited Liability Company with founder Stephen Bateman and the company's Managing Director Koichi Watanabe establishing the future strategy and realizing the potential growth opportunities in other countries and the need to develop other products for our Japanese customers.
In 2002 JSP Logistics opened an office in Brisbane and launched its Japan home delivery package service in Brisbane and Gold Coast. The company mirrored it New Zealand operation selling package services to Japanese tourists. Other products have since been developed in Australia including commercial delivery of surfboards and wine to Japan.
