Last Year's Event - a big success
Shanghai, June 7-10, 2006 Renaissance Hotel Pudong
The young guns of the alliance industry have marked their
spot as one of the leading freight networking companies in
the world.
Raeuber & Walle
Solutions Limited, the company that owns the famous Combined
Freight Network has just recently concluded its annual meeting in
Shanghai with a huge success.
Participants from
all over the world have gathered up to become one of the largest
independent freight networking committees with an attendance of
200 freight forwarders. Raeuber & Walle has been growing by an
average of 100% per year in terms of participants and only the
qualified members are allowed to join the network.
The meeting
consisted of updates regarding the network, which included
launching of 3 new sister alliances, namely the AirConsol Network,
SeaConsol Network and the Projects and Heavilifts Alliance. With
these new alliances under one family of networks the R&W now the 2nd
largest freight network company in the world.
Christian Raeuber,
the CEO of the R&W Solutions said “Although we are larger now,
please remember that size not the measurement of a quality
network. It is the quality of its members and the added value that
the network provides in terms of capabilities. As an example, one
needs to understand the importance of a properly functioning Track and Trace System. For this purpose we have designed our new networks
focusing on operational excellence”.
Nils Walle, the CFO
of the company added “What sense does it make if a freight
forwarder has 200 agents in a country, when only 2 of them do
business with you? Networking is a basic tool for growth, but is
not the ultimate differentiator you to stand out in your markets.
The freight forwarder of today needs to focus on niche markets and
develop new capabilities. Those are typically the markets which
the big players have not tapped into yet – the markets where we as
independent forwarders can still have a head start on”.
The direction is clear -
1) IT developments (Track and Trace / Communication)
2) Specialized Approach - Alliances focusing on service
